Lockerbie High Street

Lockerbie is a pleasant old town just 20 miles inside the Scottish border. The traditional High Street belies the fact that the town sits on the busy M74 connecting England with Scotland. Lockerbie has a rich history dating back to Viking times but has always been an important staging post throughout history. Tragically, Lockerbie came to world-wide prominence in December 1988 when a PanAm Boeing 747 was the target of a terrorist attack over the town, killing all those on board and 11 people on the ground.
